Making Good Men Better
Welcome to Collierville #152
Collierville Lodge #152 was chartered on October 8th, 1848 in the Village of Colliersville TN. The fraternity has been meeting at the current location on the Collierville Square since the late 1800’s.
What is Freemasonry?
Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity. It is comprised of adultmen (18+) of good character from every country, religion, race, age, income, education, and opinion, who believe in a Supreme Being. Its body of knowledgeand system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility toimprove himself while being devoted to his family, faith, country, and fraternity.Freemasonry (often simplified to “Masonry”) enhances and strengthens thecharacter of the individual man by providing opportunities for fellowship, charity, education, and leadership based on the three ancient Masonic tenets:Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.Freemasonry continually strives to “make good men better.”Are You Interested In Masonry?"I think my grandfather was one, but I'm not sure what it means." "Yeah, my dadand uncle both used to go to Masonic Meetings--I remember Uncle Fred comingby to pick him up. But I don't know where they went or what they did. ""I think they wear those funny hats." "I remember when I went away to college,my father showed me his ring and told me, if I ever needed help, I should look fora man with a ring like that and tell him I was the daughter of a Mason, but henever told me much about it."Many men live a lifetime and never know they must ask for admission to theworlds oldest, most purposeful and greatest fraternity. They do not realize thatthey will not be invited. They must come in of their own free will and accord, without persuasion. They must ask a Mason for a petition. The prescribedrequirements for membership in Tennessee are: being a man, at least 18 years ofage, having a belief in a Supreme Being and in the immortality of the soul, being capable of reading and writing, being of good moral character, having been aresident of Tennessee for at least one year preceding the presentation of hispetition, and being recommended by two Master Mason members of the Lodgeto which he desires to apply plus, two references who may or may not be Masons. If you do not Know a mason to ask for a petition, then come and join us for adinner on our Stated Meeting Nights (First Thursday of the Month) or for anydegree night (See the Calender). Then you can meet some of the men that youmay choose to form a lifelong relationship with, and discover a few masonicsecrets, Fellowship and Good Food !For more information about Freemasonry check the About Masonry Tab.
