What is Freemasonry?
Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity. It is comprisedof adult men (18+) of good character from every country, religion, race, age, income, education, and opinion, who believe in a Supreme Being. Its bodyof knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each manhas a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to hisfamily, faith, country, and fraternity.Freemasonry (often simplified to “Masonry”) enhances and strengthensthe character of the individual man by providing opportunities forfellowship, charity, education, and leadership based on the three ancientMasonic Tenets: Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.Freemasonry continually strives to “make good men better.”Are You Interested In Masonry?"I think my grandfather was one, but I'm not sure what it means.""Yeah, my dad and uncle both used to go to Masonic Meetings--I remember Uncle Fred coming by to pick him up. But I don't knowwhere they went or what they did. " "I think they wear those funny hats.""I remember when I went away to college, my father showed me his ringand told me, if I ever needed help, I should look for a man with a ringlike that and tell him I was the daughter of a Mason, but henever told me much about it."Many men live a lifetime and never know they must ask for admissionto the worlds oldest, most purposeful and greatest fraternity. They donot realize that they will not be invited. They must come in of theirown free will and accord, without persuasion. They must ask a Masonfor a petition.
